Sad news... Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community...

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch.  The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was   filled with turnovers.  He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes.  Despite being a crusty old man and a little flaky at times, he was still considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife   Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

I remember reading his biography and, back in the day,  about the affair he had  with Lorraine Liquerice, herself famous for going with All Sorts. The press found out and put the squeeze on him by leaking all the juicy bits, allegedly this was the reason for his first marriage, to Victoria Cake, crumbling. I know he was very flat for some time afterwards, and immersed himself in alchohol where he became known as a bit of a fruitcake by those in the industry. He did manage to pull himself back together though, and even went on to make a tv series  'the galloping gourmet' back in the 70's. This was a huge hit and he creamed it in, life was very sweet for him back then. One very famous episode saw him grab Fanny Craddocks cup cakes exposing them to the live studio audience. This of course would never be allowed today, but back then there were very little anyone could do, he who had the dough had the power. He publicly stated afterwards that Fanny's cakes were too hot and sticky, Fanny blamed the studio lights but the truth never emerged, and although no real harm was done, her buns were never looked at in the same way again, and her lucrative sideline of being the darling pin up of the armed forces came to an end.

Close friends and relatives at the funeral said Doughboy was buried along with his world famous recipes for tantilizing after dinner tasties, but reports are being leaked of him being incinerated and his remains crumbled over Rhubarb, Texas. Lifelong friend and buiseness aquantence, the gingerbread man, was seen at the remembrance service consoling Doughboys 4th wife, ex glamour model Candy Star, and during the after funeral party, held at Ben & Jerry's place, it is rumoured that Candy Star, Gingerbread Man & a Black Forest Gateaux, who was only brought in at the last moment to help with the dessert, were heard mixing it up in the tub. Of course, none of this can be proved, but rumour has it that the reason Star divorced Doughboy in the first place (although they remained close friends) is that Candy is only ever satisfied when sucking on a stick of rock, something that The Pilbury Doughboy could never have given her, no matter how hot she got him...
