It has come to my attention that there have been extremely inappriopriate types of comments made between members of the society recently that has caused a disagreement between members of the society.
We are not here in Entropia Universe to argue about religion. We are not here in Entropia Universe to bash each other's nations. We are not here in Entropia Universe to spread hatred of ANY kind toward ANY person or people. We are not here in Michigan Militia to argue about religion. We are not here in Michigan Militia to bash each other's nations. We are not here in Michigan Militia to spread hatred of ANY kind toward ANY person or people.
We are here in Entropia Universe and in this society to make friends, meet new people, kill some virtual creatures, and have fun together.
I am posting this in the public section of the society forum. I am currently unable to log into EU due to computer problems. Since I am unable to log in, I am unable to chat with the individuals involved.
I do not know whether this was a joke in bad taste gone bad or if it was a serious comment made that caused a serious argument between members. Either way, it is my understanding that some inappropriate comments/insults were made.
C'mon guys, isn't there enough of this type of BS in the real world? Do we really have to drag it over into the virtual world where we have all come for the purpose of having fun? How about we save the drama for mama and let those who wish to fight do so in the real world?
I do believe that I have asked in the past that members please not bring up controversial topics, and this is exactly why. People tend to get very heated over these issues, and arguements over these things don't do anything but go in endless and vicious circles. (Example: "I'm right!" "No you're not, I'm right!" "NO! I'm right!!!" ...then start inserting variations of numerous insults and reasons for why one is right and not the other into the conversation... forever... and you have the inevitable endless arguement that most likely results in more hatred and hurt and possibly even physical violence. Really productive eh?)
If this whole thing happened to be caused by comments made in jest, then the parties involved need to make that very clear to the others. I know I've seen a little playful bashing about "dumb americans" and "drunken Scotts" and the likes before, but it wasn't serious and wasn't meant to be taken seriously and nobody took it seriously. To me, at the moment, it seems that this argument, even if it did happen to start out in jest, has turned serious and some words were exchanged. I'm going to ask those involved to attempt to resolve the issue themselves or make an attempt to agree to disagree, since I can't get on to chat with everyone involved to play the middleman. I am not a drill sergeant, and I do understand that people like to goof around and poke fun of each other from time to time, but don't get carried away with it.
I, at this point, do not know exactly what was said by whom nor do I even know exactly what the arguement was about. I got a little bit of information from someone and I was asked to log in because the situation was urgent. Unfortunately, I could not log in.
If the comments made were serious and the whole arguement did not take place because of a joke gone bad, then we have a more serious issue. "My beliefs are right and everyone else is wrong" types of topics do not have a place in our society. Discrimination does not have a place in our society. We have members of various religions, social status, age, race, countries, and gender in our society. Of this I am sure, and I have no plans to exclude anyone based on something that has absolutely no relevance to Entropia Universe to begin with.
If you are walking around with our society tag above your head, you are expected to not engage in behaviors that will reflect badly upon the society as a whole. Now, I don't care if you go around killing people in PvP, I don't care if you drag a mob train once in awhile, I don't care if you do a little bit of sh*t talking, I don't care what you do in real life, but racism and hatred are two things that should not be brought into EU, and WILL NOT be brought into this society.
I'm going to make a suggestion here. I suggest that all parties involved in this situation try to take a minute to cool off and talk to each other and reconcile things. If that is not possible, let me know, with details as to why it cannot be resolved. I have very few details at the moment so I don't really know exactly what's going on. If the issue cannot be resolved between those members, then I will look at the situation from every possible angle, and I will resolve it one way or another. I will attempt to be as objective as humanly possible, but I can definitely say with certainy that I know that at least one person, and probably more than one person, will not be happy with whatever decision I make. Not everyone can be pleased if a 3rd party has to become involved to resolve a dispute.
