Motto

Shoot first, ask questions later.
Whether it be mob or man, an Entropian must learn to defend himself against all possible threats, especially in the lawless PvP areas. All humans have the ability to revive at the revival terminals, and are given fair warning of the potential dangers before entering a PvP zone. Any questions or problems that arise due to a PvP fight can be sorted after a revival if necessary; death is not a permanent state in Entropia.

Information

The Michigan Militia Society started out as a group of friends from Michigan, U.S. We have since grown to inculde members from across the globe who enjoy spending time within the Entropia Universe.
Sir Lance Lancelot is the creator/original founding member of the Michigan Militia society. Together with Funky Space Monkey, Silver Ice Rayne, and Princess Wolverina Spectaculus, the decision was made to create the society. Shortly thereafter, we recruited enough members to make the society official and permanent. Only one of those original members remains today: Theren Tere Strange. These five members are all considered founding members of the society, and are still active today within our group, whether it is in our main branch or our Cadets branch.

Our Hierarchy template is that of outlaws, and our ranks are as follows:
Boss - Position of leadership.
Counselor - Position of leadership and trust.
Hitter - Position of knowledge and/or skill.
Thug - Position of skill and experience.
Hood - position of experience.
Punk - entry rank.

The majority of our members are hunters, however we don't discourage any of our members from exploring other professions. We welcome anyone persuing any profession they desire, so long as they meet the requirements of the society and can effectively and respectfully interact with the other members of the society. Skill levels of individuals in the main society range anywhere from 50k total points to well over 100k total points.

Rules

We try to keep the number of rules to a minimum. We are outlaws, after all  Grin

1) No begging - be self sufficient! Whether you deposit or not is completely up to you. However, MM members are not permitted to beg from other Entropians to obtain their PEDs; there are plenty of other more honorable ways to make money within EU if you choose to not deposit.

2) Minimum age of 18 years is required to join Michigan Militia! The only exceptions shall be: members who joined before this rule took effect, and personal RL family members of existing MM members.

3) No scamming! Scamming shall be defined as lying to another Entropian for personal financial gain and/or exploiting trade bugs.

4) Sense of humor highly recommended!

5) Be Active! Contact a Counselor or the Boss if you plan to be inactive for more than two weeks. We do understand that RL has to be your main priority, however, we do not wish to have a member roster full of people who never log in! If you are inactive for more than 2 weeks without prior notice, we will take note. After one month, your membership to the society will be terminated. Please take note that anyone only logging in once every 2 weeks for a miniscule amount of time will also be considered as inactive and may face membership termination.

6)Save the drama for your mama! We are all adults here, conduct yourself as such. While we do recommend a sense of humor, constant extreme immaturity will not be tolerated.

Goals

Yep, we have 'em. Our goals are dynamic. Cool

As a whole, the society operates as a second family. Each member is encouraged to set and achieve whatever individual goals they desire, and we work with one another to achieve those goals. Every member within the society has a voice, and all of those voices combined determines what direction we take next.

Equipment

Guns, Guts, and/or whatever equipment suits you best.

We have no real physical equipment requirements. If it works for you, it works for us.

New applicants to the Michigan Militia must have a MINIMUM of 50k total skills, or 2 years of active EU experience. If you do not meet this requirement, but would still like to join our group, please apply to the Michigan Militia Cadets society.

We do take an active interest in our Cadets society, and our Cadets society joins us on most of our group hunts/events/activities. Through experience we've learned that it is better to have a slightly detatched, but still inclusive environment for newer, inexperienced players to learn and develop, rather having them leap right into a society full of players who are way ahead of them in experience and skills. It is easier, less frustrating, and much more fun to learn and develop an avatar with a group of other players who are at the same or close to the same experience level.

so its the rule now for new members to have the 50k total or two years experience, this is good in my opinion and comes at the right time now we have a junior soc to nurture the less experienced.

The rule will go into full effect as of Jan. 1st, but yes, as of now all new potential applicants must have at least 50k skills or 2 years of active experience within EU, otherwise join the Cadets society, which has no skill/experience requirements. I have also shut off the application system through the society terminal; those who would like to apply must speak with a member to recieve an invite, and that invite is only to be given after checking to be sure the minimum requirements are met.  Smile

Is there some way we can really check in-game? A scan will give some indication - you would expect to see a few professions at about levels in the high 20s, but they may have several professions in the teens if they have spread their time, say between mining, hunting, crafting, and, say, mutant scanning! But the requirement is a points total, not a profession level.

No, there is no way to check in-game. Unless you scan them and they have an incredible amount of skills ofc.  lol If someone has medium health, you know they have at least 50k skills. But by making the applications all invite-only, instead of through the society terminal, the inviting member can instruct the applicant to send a screenshot of skills via this forum, EF, or through e-mail.  Smile
