I've been looking over the society roster, and it looks as though our little family has grown to the point where we are ready to make the final split.

Soon the Michigan Militia Misfits society will be born. Skill level for this society will be 25k-75k total skills for the time being. Our goal will be to get ALL of our Cadets up to the minimum level to reach this society. The main goal for this new mid-level society will be to have fun skilling up and continue learning the ways of EU while making friends and learning to work cooperatively with your fellow society members.

These plans have been in the works for a long time coming, though they've been adjusted slightly and will be tweaked a bit in the future. The entire reason behind all of this is to build a strong, organized society with strong interpersonal relationships and coordination at the top level.

This society will be created next weekend. At that time, we will need those from the upper level soc who match the 50-75k skill range to move down, as well as those in the cadets who match that skill range to move up into that soc so we can establish the ranks within that society and make it permanent.

Ranks within this society should follow the same pattern as the upper soc, and be arranged as follows:

There will be no Punks; everyone coming into the society will be promoted one rank immediately.
Hoods will be from 25k-29k
Thugs will be from 30k-39k
Hitters will be from 40k-54k (or up to 75k)
Counselors will be from 55k-75k, must be able to kill an atrox guardian solo, and must possess strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills. Promotion into this position requires prior approval of the majority of the reigning Colonels. Counselors will be responsible for organizing team hunts and events, getting the lower ranks involved in team activies, and occasionally involving freelancers and members of other societies (including, but not limited to, the other Michigan Militia societies) in society team hunts, as well as be responsible for accepting incoming applications at the society terminal from Cadets who are ready to move up and from freelancers who meet the minimum requirements to join, and enforcement of society rules and ranks.

The new ranks for the Cadets will be as follows:

There will be limited number of recruits, all members will be promoted upon joining the Michigan Militia website.
Private will be from 0k-5k skills.
Sergeant will be from 5-10k skills, discovery of all teleporter locations on Eudoria.
Captain will be from 10k-25k skills, discovery of all teleporter locations on Amethera.
Colonels must be at least 20k skills, and are voted into position by other society members or appointed by the General. Colonels for this society must have good leadership abilities and be willing, within reason, to work with the newer members of the society. The duties of the colonel will include doing tp runs, outpost rescues, giving advice, answering questions, and recruiting for the society. Additional responsibilities include organizing team events and tp runs, organized recruitment efforts, and maintaining contact with and organizing activities with the counselors of the upper-level Michigan Militia societies, and enforcement of society rules and ranks.

Will either the middle or upper soc, still have the 18 or older rule?

The upper soc will remain minimum age of 18. The mid-level society, as it is a transitional society, will still be open to our younger members. This still gives our younger members goals to work towards, without holding them back in a completely newbie society.

The purpose of the Cadets now is to train the newest of the noobs and to help filter out the newbies who join a society and quit playing the game two days later. This will enable the mid level society to focus more on skilling  up and having fun rather than recruiting and constantly sorting through the society roster to weed out the inactive members. The leaders of the Cadets have enough experience to mentor the newest newcomers to the point that they can succeed and excel to the next level within the society.

The purpose of the Misfits is to build upon the individual's fundamental skills learned in the newbie stage, while at the same time focusing on building strong working relationships with members of the society. The Misfits society is where our mid-level members will learn to adapt to the ever-changing EU, develop relational, promotional, and strong team skills, and have fun working on further developing their avatar.

The learning does not stop at the upper level society, but the upper level society is meant to be an unstoppable force when they come together as a team. As some of you have seen already, the upper level society can already take down any creature out there as of now when they work together. They will continue to work together to become a stronger cooperative unit, openly welcoming members who have the the same level of capability, the same sense of family, the same desire to move forward, and the same (mostly) positive attitude.

middle soc is mainly hunting, but the upper will me a complete mix, right?

All of the societies are a complete mix. Crafters, miners, colorers etc. are welcome in the Misfits as well as in the other groups, though having hunting as at least a secondary profession is a bonus.  Wink
