Our teamspeak channels are now moderated, and I have given moderator rights to a few specific people.

Moderators (operators) are able to perform the following actions:
    • Create sub-channels
    • Edit channel codec (usually not necessary, but I gave the ability in case it is needed while I'm away)
    • Grant Auto-operator privilege (to be used only if more permanent moderators are needed)
    • Revoke Auto-operator privilege (just in case accidental auto-op privilege is granted, or if someone is abusing their ability)
    • Grant operator privilege (if temporary moderators are needed)
    • Revoke operator privilege
    • Grant auto-voice (those with auto-voice will automatically be given voice rights the next time they log in - this right is not to be given to people who are new to the society or to the teamspeak server)
    • Revoke auto-voice
    • Grant/Revoke voice (those granted only voice will NOT automatically be given voice rights the next time they log in...this is the right to be granted to those who are new to the server and/or society)
    • Send Text to channel
    • Send Text to player
    • Kick player from server
    • Kick player from channel
    • Allow channel commander status
    • Allow registration with server

Guests and registered users must first be granted voice rights in order to have the ability to speak on the channels. This is to help prevent abuse of the teamspeak server. I decided to provide this service to the society to make it easier & more fun for everyone to communicate with other members of the society.

Please note that this service has been provided for the purpose of communication with your fellow society members, with the main topic being Entropia Universe, activities within Entropia Universe, Michigan Militia, Michigan Militia Cadets and related events. Of course it is to be expected that off topic discussions will be had as we all get to know one another, and I am not in any way banning discussions about real life, current events, odd jokes, or whatever may come, but PLEASE KEEP THE OVERALL CONVERSATIONS IN GOOD TASTE. This means keeping extremely controversial topics to an absolute minimum, and having the courtesy to not bombard your fellow society members with constant sexually-toned comments and/or plainly offensive or filthy language and comments. There are chat rooms, web sites, and 1-900-xxx-xxxx numbers for such things if you desperately feel the need to explore those types of issues further. We do have members of the society who are considered minors by the law, so please also take that into account before speaking. Blatant violations of these requests will result in a warning, then voice rights being temporarily removed by a moderator. Further violations will result in voice rights being revoked for longer periods of time. Outright purposeful abuse of the teamspeak server will result in being kicked from the server, and if necessary, a permanent ban.

Hopefully we will not have the need to resort to such measures. It seems we currently have an awesome group of people who get along quite nicely, but as we have seen in the past, things aren't always dandy, and we occasionally pick up a member who just does not mesh well with the rest of the group. Moderators feel free to point anyone acting inappropriately to this post on the forum as a first warning if necessary.

Society members who need information regarding how to connect to our teamspeak server, visit this link: MM Teamspeak. If you are not a member of one of the Militia forum groups, then you will not have access to this link. Contact an administrator if you need to be placed in the proper forum group.[/list]
