I have created this spreadsheet to help you all track your skills over time.  At the bottom of the sheet, each category of skills is sub-totaled.  A graph is included that will graph the categories.  The standard method of calculating skills excludes Attributes.  A total with and without Attributes is included.

To use this sheet, begin by entering all of the skills your avatar has.  You may want to launch EU in windowed mode or use a second computer to make it a whole lot easier to move the data by hand!  In the past, I used some tools available on the web to automate this process, but I have found it easier to just use that old laptop for keeping the sheet up to date.

- Side note - BEWARE keyloggers and trojans are a reality and your avatar is valuable -

If you are serious about this game, GET A GOLD CARD, and avoid downloading every EU related utility on the net or that email attachment from an EU "friend"!  I personally know more than one person who regrets opening that email attachment or downloading something they found on Google to just try out.  Call me paranoid, but that machine on the other end of this desk, is used for EU and maybe browsing the web using something other than Internet Explorer - no email, no searching for highschool buddies, no por - hmm.. you get the idea..

-back to the post-

You will certainly find that your avatar doesn't have some of the skills listed.  These "missing skills" will be unlocked by your avatar after reaching a particular level in a skill or profession related to the category.  For a list of these unlocked skills and their requirements, see this link http://laz.la.funpic.de/needtoknow.htm#7 to Lazarus' Skill Shop. (I sent a message asking for permission to link)

At the top of each column, fill in the date of entry.  I have pre-filled these with dates starting October 1st, incrementing by 7 days for each column.  You can change these.

Each time you start a new column, you may find it easier to just start by copying and pasting the previous column - this will save you a lot of time because many skills increase pretty slowly and may not change at all in the few days between data entry.

After a few weeks, the graph at the bottom will start to show what categories of skills are being increased by your activities.

I have been tracking my skills like this for more than a year and it is very interesting to look back and see how far I have come - from somewhere around 25k skills total in May, 2007 to 93.5k on October 1st, 2008.  Perhaps tracking your skills like this will help you find the best path to your skilling goals.

Good luck and happy skilling!
