Hi all,

I'd like to propose that we hold a beacon run for the cadets.
I thiink it would be an interesting and educational experience for the people who haven't been on one yet.

I volunteer to buy the beacon (probably a 23 pedder)

Doing a beacon has some fairly specific rules that need to be followed.  Here's a good web page that describes the steps involved:
http://www.entropiadirectory.com/wiki/index.php?title=Robot_beacon_missions
Anyone who hasn't been on a beacon run yet and would like to go, please read this thoroughly and ask any questions
BEFORE we do the run.

My only concern is that we need a participant (maybe from the upper soc) who can take down
the boss because I'm pretty sure I can't.  Unless one of the colonels in the cadets can handle a warrior gen 3 :-)

I figure we need at least the following people involved:
- One upper soc member or a suitably skilled and equipped cadet
- Two or three cadet colonels
- At least one fapper, probably a relative noob, to help keep the other noobs alive :-)

The rest of the team will be made up of whoever wants to come along for the ride.
Even if you only have an opallo and pixie armor, your contibution will help

I was thinking a weekend would be a good time to do this.  Not sure about the time of day yet.

Any comments or feedback is appreciated.  Or if you think this is a completely crazy idea, let me know too :-)

It is not a completely crazy idea, it's a good idea. Let me know what time you guys are doing it and I will see if I can arrange for someone to be there to take the boss.  Cool

Well.. I did manage to solo my first Warrior last week running Andy from Genesis Amethera to Emerald Lakes.   Suprised

I was able to do it, but it wasn't pretty.   Roll Eyes
<Also, I think it was only a Gen 1...>

So.. I'll should be able to go if I'm available, but I do hope Ice, Trish, or Szek are willing to be the tank (i.e. meat shield) for the BOSS.   lol

Hehehehe...  "tank" or "meat shield" was a term used in two other MMORPG's I have played in the past ten years (Dark Age of Camelot and Lineage II).  It was the person designated to attack first, draw agro, and receive the bulk of the damage.  Tanks usually have poor attack capabilities, but extremely high hit points and defensive abilities (i.e. armor).

DD was "Direct Damage", also know as the "nuker"... usually a mage with fireball.

CC was "Crowd Control". able to use  sleep or hold to keep a group from being swarmed by multiple mobs.

Healer/buffer did exactly that.. healed and "buffed" (gave extra powers) to all in group.

I'm pretty geeky with gamer lingo.   lol

Well Beacons are Very fun to do, Well............ only when I pay attention and run into the line of fire hehe  Embarrassed . To be honest with the right gun LR48 I can take a Warrior Gen 3. Or with a Fapper hehe.

Chrome I know exactly what you are talking about with having a Tank. In the other game I play the Tanks are Barbarians. Or the Venomancers Pets. That Game is Perfect World. Here is a picture I have put together to show my Avatars:
