...THE MILITIA

The Michigan Militia society was founded in 2006 by Sir Lance Lancelot and friends. I remember those early days very well. We were a very small band of nooblets running around shooting at whatever we could manage to take down. We went out of our way to look for lost newcomers so that we could assist them with finding their way in this strange, chaotic, wild world called Calypso. Our only motives were to have fun, make new friends, further develop ourselves, and chase the wild, crazy Entropian dream...

I remember running into Tere for the first time, in his bright orange jumpsuit (decay did not affect appearance of clothing back then) and picked up very quickly on his enthusiasm and energy. Along with several other newcomers, MM made an effort to assist this newcomer with gathering some new TPs. What a blast we had! After running around, chatting, asking/answering questions, etc. we decided to invite the newcomers, including Tere, into the society. Ahh, the times we had! I tend to refer to those days as "The days of the Argonauts" as that was, back then, the best critter to skill on, and I think all of us hunted them until we couldn't stand the sight of them anymore... then we hunted them some more anyway.

I remember KD coming, then disappearing, then coming back, then disappearing  lol  I remember running into Natty while out hunting drones... he had asked if he could join our hunt, and we happily added him to the team. Not long after that, he asked to join the society. I remember Monk, with his enthusiasm and desire to help newcomers being welcomed aboard. I remember the days of friedd0g and Gumbi... and the goofy conversations that followed their joining of the society. Salamander, our great feffoid warrior! Our goofy, verbally abusive yet lovable lance. And who can forget our very own witty Ram!?! So many unique individuals... I could go on for pages about what each member has brought to the society.

Members have come and gone, but even those who have left us are still connected to the Militia in some way, whether it is through the friendships that still linger between those who have left and the members who remain in the society, or through the ideas and energy they brought with them into the society that still lingers long after they have moved on. Once you join the Militia and bring with you your ideas, your energy, your bloodlust and enthusiasm, and prove that you have what it takes to be a part of something very unique, you never really leave the Militia and it never really leaves you.

Our society developed to a point where we had to create a Cadets society; a place where newcomers could develop in an environment where they were not overwhelmed, but a place that was still very connected to the knowledge, resources, and experience in the main society. The Militia's future, all bundled into one small, enthusiastic, curious package. There is an incredible amount of energy, enthusiasm, and talent in our Cadets society. The majority of the members of the Cadets may not yet have the skill levels required to use the "big guns," but I can say with certainty that we cannot underestimate the amount of talent and potential that each and every member within the extended family of the Militia posseses.

Family. It is really the only way to describe our unique and incredibly diverse little group. Each and every member within our society has a role. Each individual is appreciated for who they are and what they bring to the society. Each and every member within the society has a voice that is heard loud and clear. We have our good times, our not-so-good times, and our great times. We laugh together, we whine together, we kill together (and occasionally kill each other,) we have fun together, we frequently verbally abuse each other for sh!ts and giggles, but we always support each other through thick and thin. That support often even extends to matters outside of the Entropia Universe.

What does it take to be a part of the Militia? Be an individual. Bring your ideas, bring your enthusiasm, bring your appreciation for everything that is a part of yourself and everything that you are a part of, bring your attitude, and don't forget your gun.

 Cool

This thread is for the Militia AND our Cadets. Bring your voices. Whether you have one sentence or 10 pages, every contribution counts. I will start the next sentence for you:

Ahhh, our sweet little lancey-pooh!  love Such a bundle of love and joy! Shall we run through the fields of daisies together wearing our tie-dye shirts with giant peace signs on them?  Tounge

Being one yourself who is able to get along with everyone and be friendly with everyone, I am certain you know without me even having to finish the sentence...

Holding a normal, civilized discussion is rarely an event with negative consequences. So it indeed seems the majority of the school of small fish has decided to puff out their spikes and fend off the big, hungry fish.

This is the most active that I have seen this forum become since it was first created. This says a lot about our small little family here.

Who is next? We are...

Interestingly enough, as a teen, Michigan was one of my two favorite college football teams to watch... mainly because of the music.   Wink

Here is the other:
