Fear The Monkey

« on: May 17, 2011, 06:52:02 AM »

Alright, as most of you know there was a update today (May 17th, 2011). I'm here to fill in the blanks on some questions about what changed.

1) Teleportation- I would have to upload a video to show everything that goes on now, but it is really neat! When you choose your destination and hit the teleport button (whether this be at a TP or with your chip) it begins a motion blur that slightly zooms in then out of focus. It's pretty sweet, but might only be offered on higher graphic settings, I play on Very High settings, or with the check box next to Motion Blur selected in your options menu.

2) Mining Changes- As you can read in the patch notes everything was combined. Pictures below show differences. The skill was changed to "Treasure Finder" from Prospector/Surveyor. The finder,in picture, was my old OF-105 and is now called Finder F-105. The second picture is my old OE-104, now called Resource Extractor RE-104 and along with the change in skill to Archeologist. The third picture is the new TT refiner, Refiner MR100.

*See first reply for more details about Mining*

Extractor

Refiner

3) Chat- The chat window got a slight makeover along with a few extra buttons that revolve around the new Voice Chat setup.

These 3 sections cover the main changes in this patch as far as I can see so far.

Mining changes continued!

Probes can now be bought from the TT for 5PED/100 Probes. You can choose to search for both Ore and Enmatter on the same drop. Searching for ore costs 20 probes/search and enmatter costs 10 probes/search, so if you combine it would be 30 probes/drop. So prices are probably the same when it comes down to it, but they (MA) are just making it easier for you to find stuff in the ground. I will try out the new system sometime today and update this post with my view on the new system.
